Typography, Logo and product design

These are my two labels that I have created. My first attempt is on the left with my second on the right. The idea behind my first label was to create a logo that used gender neutral colours. This worked really well with the name 'Wave' as I was able to use blues and greens which also link to the ocean. In my logo I tried to use all of the colours of the ocean which can be seen with the dark blue on a dark and gloomy day, a light blue on a sunny day and then a tropical green. The use of these colours is that because they are bright, they will stand out on the bottle and that may be something that will appeal to 16-25 year olds as they probably wont pick up a dull coloured bottle.

In the second label I have gone for a completely different idea. For this I based it around gender again but instead of only showing it through colours, I have actually used symbols as well to spread the message. Initially this logo was dull although the black contrasted with the white bottle but I wanted to add a little bit of colour to make it stand out and appeal a little bit to my target audience

In the end I choose to go with my original idea as I used Surveymonkeys to create a survey and when asked about which one was preferred, 83% said they preferred the first one which is a huge amount. The second one was perhaps to dull when placed on top of a white bottle.
